MEDINUX want to be a free medical software collected in an applications packet that should grow

in the "open source" society;

Medical Doctor Pier Luigi Simari,

General Practioner of Salorno, italian-german village situated in Southtyrol - Italy, had this idea (BZ),

  As he realized that the existing programs for the general practioners are too difficult to manage for the condivision of the experiences. In fact there is a pletora of different software that prevents the exchange of the information between the informative experienced doctors. Therefore the medical progress is going too slow.

At the end of the 90's Dr. Simari began to work with Web pages for fun. But it was soon evident for him that the Web could be the right instrument for the communications of data and opinions between Medical Practicioners and Researchers.

Dr. Simari begun to work at this Project that he called Medinux: from the intials MED= medical and INUX for LINUX . At first this software had to run under a Free Operating System, such as Linux. This O.S was elected mainly because free: everyone can modify the source of a free software and the user doesn't need the permission of the author for this purpose.

At a later time, as he realized that most of his colleagues dont' have enough time to learn the use of a new O.S., and through suggestions from programming experts, he discovered that there is no need to use a definite O.S., but only the use of the PHP pages on the server and the usual browser to interact with the MySQL database on the server would be enough for the needs.

The very important thing is that the Data Base has to be on the Web. And the operating pages too. At client level there have to be only interactive operations to execute
